Low-income students can schedule a time to bring over laundry to wash clothes and have access to snacks, showers, and WiFi while they wait.
Short-term housing insecurity often happens during the semester for students who are just getting by on a couch or living out of their car and that option runs out. Since we are lucky enough to have a building with room to spare, we open that space up as storage if a student needs to put their personal property somewhere during a housing transition.
This year, we've placed twenty-one financially challenged students in affordable housing and are providing additional assistance with a grant to subsidize the cost of rent. In addition, we provide mentors from the Fort Collins community, establish peer support groups, and help connect students to other assistance through a social work intern.
